Recruitment efforts
Healthy conferences make an effort to
regularly bring in a few new members. It helps to keep
the conference effective, active, and energized. While
some enlist the assistance of a few members of the Support
Team, others run their own recruitment drive.
With the full support of Fr. Dobson, Bill Graham addressed
the parishioners at each of the weekend masses at St. Timothy's
Church in Brampton. Shirley Graham, president of St. John
of the Cross conference, also assisted. They got 23
interested parishioners and had an information meeting for
them a few days later.
A recruitment drive was also carried out at St. Aidan Parish
(Scarborough). The president, Alphonse D'Costa, with the
assistance of a few conference members and Support Team
members and the full support of the pastor, signed up 35
interested parishioners after the masses on the April 28/29
weekend. Although many of these will chose did not follow
through on becoming members, St. Aidan conference has succeeded
in adding a number of new, committed members.
